Innovation Festival 07 - the last Roadshow in Tuen Mun

The 10-week Festival, with the theme "Let's Innovate...For a New Era", will have its last roadshow held at Tuen Mun Town Plaza from 12 to 14 October.

The upcoming roadshow will feature exhibits from students of Tuen Mun IVE and HK PolyU; robots participating in the World Robot Olympiad 2007 and in the setting of new Guinness World Records. A simulation game featuring the hybrid electric vehicle designed by the CUHK and winning projects of the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition will also be showcased. The very well received DesignTech workshops will continue to be staged for the youngsters.

The last event of the Innovation Festival will be a Design Exhibition held at InnoCentre, Kowloon Tong, from 17 October to 7 November. Since late August, the Innovation Festival has attracted around 50,000 times of visit and participation from the public.



China Hi-Tech Fair 2007 commences this Friday

The China Hi-Tech Fair(CHTF) 2007, an international hi-tech event approved by the State Council, will be held from 12 to 17 October at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre. It provides a platform for technology companies all over the world to showcase their technological achievements, exchange information, identify collaboration partners and explore business opportunities.

Apart from the projects of the R&D Centres the Institute of Chinese Medicine and other Hong Kong technology organizations, the Hong Kong Pavilion will also showcase many outstanding projects supported by the Innovation and Technology Fund of the HKSAR Government as well as various award winning technologies and designs.



GD-HK Technology Co-operation Funding Scheme 2007 now available for application

The governments of HKSAR and Guangdong (GD) Province are now inviting applications for funding support for R&D projects under the 2007 HK/GD Technology Co-operation Funding Scheme.

There are three categories under the scheme: Category A is for projects which are solicited, vetted and funded solely by Hong Kong while Category B is for projects which are solicited, vetted and funded solely by Guangdong. Category C is launched with a view to further enhancing technology co-operation between the two sides, and it is for projects which are jointly solicited, vetted and funded by Hong Kong and Guangdong.
