Developing a Technology Venture - See How Others Did It

Innovation and Technology Commission will jointly launch the Hong Kong Pavilion at the China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), scheduled for 12-17 October at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre again this year with the HK Productivity Council (HKPC) and the HK Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

CHTF, an international hi-tech event endorsed by the State Council, provides a platform for technology companies to showcase their technological achievements, exchange information and explore business opportunities. Last year's CHTF attracted over 530,000 visitors, with most of them being corporate leaders, procurement professionals and technology experts.

Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2007 - Final Judging and Prize Presentation

 "Anti-bump Lock" by Maryknoll Fathers' School and  "Anti-bacterial Chemicals (ABC)" by S.P.H.R.C. Kung Yik She Secondary School were awarded  the Championship in the category for invention and investigation respectively, in the final competition on 2 June. In addition, three projects with energy saving potentials received awards under a special theme on Energy Source and Energy Saving newly introduced this year.

Students of the winning teams will join a visit and exchange programme overseas to broaden their exposure.

Forum on "Joining Hands in Building an Innovative Nation"

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR and to foster technology exchange and cooperation within the region, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC and the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau of the HKSAR jointly hosted the subjected Forum on 21 May at the HKCEC, with the support of the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR and the China Science and Technology Exchange Center.

The Hon Henry Tang, the Financial Secretary, was one of the officiating guests and Mr Luo Haocai, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, gave a keynote speech at the Forum.

The Forum provided an opportunity for government officials, technology experts, academics and industrialists in the Mainland and HK, as well as renowned figures from Taiwan and Macau to discuss issues relating to national innovation strategies and synergies in I&T industries.
