Innovation Festival 2006

The four-day Youth Innovation Exhibition just held from 10 to 13 November at the Hong Kong Science Museum met with an overwhelming response. The exhibition consisted of four thematic zones. Visitors were deeply impressed by the strength and potential of local youngsters in innovation and technology.

- My Favourite Inventions for Quality Living Competition 2006;
- Robotics Carnival;
- Youth Innovations; and
- Hi-tech Innovations and Technologies

The next roadshow of Innovation Festival will be held at Metro City Plaza III, Tseung Kwan O from 18 to 19 November.

My Favourite Inventions for Quality Living Competition 2006

The“My Favourite Inventions for Quality Living”Competition co-presented by the Innovation and Technology Commission (The Organiser) and Towngas TGC has gained enthusiastic responses from the community.

The public can vote for their most favourite inventions among the final entries from now till 12:00 noon, November 22. Vote can be made on-site at Innovation Festival roadshows or on-line at the Competition website. All voters will have a chance to join a lucky draw to win an in-kind prize sponsored by Towngas TGC valued at HK$1,000.

Hong Kong Youth Innovation Club members met with Nobel Prize Winner

After its official establishment in October, the Youth Innovation Club (YIC) held its first activity on 1 November. Around 140 YIC members and students had a sharing session with Prof. Klaus von Klitzing, Nobel Laureate in Physics (1985). Prof. v. Klitzing shared his road to success to the students about his attitude towards life during the meeting.

YIC was set up jointly by the Innovation and Technology Commission and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups to provide a sustainable, interactive platform to nurture local youth innovative talent.
